Taking its inspiration from the new 18 footer, the FUN POWER is a light, fast solo dinghy fitted with a fully battened 9m2 Mylar mainsail, which gives considerable sailing power at all speeds. The hull, with its very tight lines, its flat stern and its thin straight stem, makes it glide along as soon as there is even the slightest breath of wind. In a breeze, just hanging onto the trapeze, you can really feel everything, the water races by at top speed, while the hull lifts out of the water as it glides across.
With its rigid blades, the FUN POWER stays stable when heeling, which will reassure beginners. Its large self-draining cockpit gives the helmsman plenty of room to move around, he can even have someone else alongside him during the trip as the maximum authorised load is 180 kg. The small, light racing mast fits in perfectly with the profile of the Mylar sail. The masting and dismasting are so simple that they can be done alone, with no assistance, it’s child’s play! The boom fitted with its mainsail sheet and downhaul tackle remains in place inside the cockpit, thus reducing rig-up time.
All adjustments are centred around the cockpit allowing the helmsman to take action rapidly and effectively even when hanging onto the end of the cable. The deck equipment with ball bearings offered as standard on the FUN POWER is simple to use and does not require any particular maintenance, it only needs to be rinsed with fresh water. The semi-pivoting dagger board accentuates exceptional upwind steering and facilitates unintentional beaching. The FUN POWER is build using polyester resin fibreglass with sandwich reinforcements, which makes it a sturdy dinghy. The FUN POWER’s reserve buoyancy means that it is unsinkable.
Transporting the FUN POWER does not require the use of a road trailer as it can be transported on the roof of a car by means of the roof rack extension kit. The FUN POWER has been a huge success and it can be seen on many stretches of French and European water being used both for racing and for pleasure.
